Section 3 – Scope
Q: The 2% of managers, is that the cap?
A: Yes.
Section 8 – Hours of Service
Q: How is block-in determined?
A: The parking brake must be set and the first aircraft door being opened to officially be “blocked in”.
Q: Will all mid-con layovers go away?
A: No, there will still be layovers. Planes will still need to RON.
Q: Will we lose ANC-ORD layover?
A: This is not a contractual change. Pairings can always rotate to other bases. There are no guarantees.
Section 9 – Junior Available
Q: So Crew Scheduling won’t call us at home anymore?
A: Correct.
Q: If you prefer off a day in PBS, can Crew Scheduling fly you on that day off?
A: Yes. However, if you are awarded a trip on the day you prefer off and drop the trip and do not replace flying on that day then you cannot be Junior Assigned.
Q: How early can you be Junior Assigned?
A: The day prior to the Junior Assignment.
Q: If I am contacted for a Junior Assignment prior to my 15 minute debrief ending am I required to accept the assignment?
A: Yes.
Section – Scheduling
Q: In 5 years, could 4k sequences be as high as 50% pairings?
A: No, there would have to be enough cities that qualify with the very specific parameters.
Q: Could Hawaii ever qualify for a 4k trip?
A: No, Hawaii does not qualify as it is more than 2000 miles each way.
Q: Will the company consult AFA adding new cities that would qualify for 4k?
A: There is no language to support a requirement to consult AFA, However, AFA will be aware of new potential 4k routes.
Q: Can I ASAP on a 4k because I am fatigued?
A: You can however it would have to be accepted based on the ASAP criteria and could be determined on a case by case basis.
Q: At what time could a Reserve be forced a 4k pairing?
A: 3 hours prior to departure (2 hours prior to check-in).
Q: If a Lineholder is offered and accepts a 4k sequence will they be paid the 1.5x premium?
A: No, the 4k 1.5x premium is for Reserves who are forced to fly the sequence.
Section 11 – Reserve
Q: What is self-assigning?
A: If you are on reserve you will be able to self-assign trips from Open Time or Airport Standby. Self-assigned trips must be exact match to your block days and call type.
Q: Will Airport Standby also be in Open Time?
A: Yes, however you can only pick up within your call type. You can also trade Airport Standby assignment with another Reserve on Airport Standby. Reserves can also trade trips once assigned.
Q: Is the go around credit improved for Reserves?
A: Yes, it is now the same application as for a Lineholder.
Section 12 – Open Time
Q: What is the difference between a TO vs TX code?
A: TO you can do a straight drop into Open Time and TX is a trade of day for day or greater.
Q: Are the TO/CP/SL/CB/UB etc… codes able to be seen on the trips?
A: Yes.
Section 14 – Vacation
Q: Does vacation count toward my 480 credit for my vacation accrual?
A: No.
Section 16 – Sick Leave
Q: Does Sick Leave Reserve Make Up reduce my points?
A: No. This is not a point reduction tool. It is a rapid accrual system to restore your sick bank.
Q: Can you still call in well and do I have to sit reserve?
A: Yes, you can still call in well. No you are not required to accept a reserve block. There is no change to this provision.
Section 21 – Compensation
Q: Why did we go with a signing bonus vs retro?
A: We tried for retro but were unable to achieve it.
Q: If I work a turn worth 4 TFP will I get paid 4 TFP or 5 TFP for the trip?
A: With Minimum Pay Rules, (ADPG) you will be credited 5 TFP if flown, 4 TFP if you call in sick.
Q: How many years can they go back on the 480 look-back?
A: They need to go back as far as necessary to get a full 12 months even if it means looking back several years.
Section 32 – Attendance
Q: If I take a staffing leave in January will it preclude me from record improvement?
A: No, leaves will no longer automatically preclude you from record improvement.
Q: Can I now use my quarterly point reduction prior to using bank points?
A: Yes. In today’s application bank points are automatically deducted and if you use your quarterly point reduction your bank points deducted and not restored. With TA2 you gain bank point protections and can now use your quarterly point reduction prior to using your bank points.
