Brice McGee
LEC President
Master Executive Council (MEC) Voting Member
AFA Board of Directors Member
Brice embarked on an adventurous career as a Flight Attendant starting in Los Angeles in 2006. His professional journey has since taken him to Seattle and finally to his present base in San Diego. Brice’s life is a harmonious blend of travel and family. He has turned the art of commuting into a lifestyle, calling many places home, including the sunny shores of Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, the desert landscape of Nevada, and now the tropical haven of Heredia, Costa Rica. In these varying locales, Brice has expertly juggled the demands of his Flight Attendant and Union duties with the joys and responsibilities of his personal life.
Renowned among his peers for his unwavering commitment, Brice has become a cornerstone in the advocacy of his fellow colleagues. His journey through Union leadership roles, first as LEC Secretary and now in his third term as LEC President, exemplifies his resolve to foster a better workplace for all. Brice leads not just with authority, but with genuine concern for the welfare of his team, ensuring he remains first and foremost a Flight Attendant who stands united with those he represents.
On the home front, Brice is a loving father to his children, Jona and Keysha, with whom he shares an enduring bond, strengthened through shared travels to cherished destinations like Cancun. His life is a vibrant mosaic of professional dedication, family love, and a zest for discovery, all of which make him an inspiring figure in the airline community. As a leader, Brice holds true to the principle of Union unity, flying the skies alongside his colleagues and advocating for a stronger, well-informed, engaged workforce. He envisions an AFA with greater presence and reach, valuing open communication and the power of social media to connect and address the crew’s concerns, thereby strengthening the collective voice of the Flight Attendants he proudly serves.

Melanie Buker
LEC Vice President
Melanie started her flying career with Horizon Air in 1986, based in Boise, ID. While at Horizon, she joined the Critical Incident Response Program (CIRP), which led her to join the AFA Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at Alaska when hiring on in 2002. She was elected as the Council 30 Anchorage president in January of 2011.
Union and volunteer work has always been important to me; I believe that you have to be the change that you want to see. I also know that there is a time and a place for everything and I hope that if the time is right, you also take on a roll within our local council…we need you!
I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Flight Attendants here in San Diego that I have had the pleasure of working with, we seem to be a very diverse group and I look forward to meeting you all soon. I am honored to be working with the LEC Officers; I have a lot of respect for both of them.
