Q&A: How Did The American TA Rates Change in the December Arbitration Award and How Do They Compare to TA2 Rates?
Q&A: Is there any change to calling in well from current book?
No. All provision are the same as current book. If a FA calls in well, Crew Scheduling may offer the following options and if the FA agrees, they may:
1. Pick up their sequence at a SIP
2. Receive a Like Sequence
3. Sit Reserve
4. Remain off duty for the remainder of the sequence and be paid SL.
However, the difference is that under TA2, if you elect to sit Reserve, a line holder will by default be the last to fly within their call type and days of availability. If the line holder would prefer they can opt in to the LTFA list.
Q&A: Do Section 8 over duty provisions apply to 4k sequences?
A: Yes. All provisions of Section 8 apply to 4k sequences. If the 4k is sequence is a turn then Section 8.F. (Over-Duty Pay), Section 8.G. (Fourteen Hour Rule), Section 8.H. Double Out Rest, etc apply. If there is a multi-say sequence that contains a 4k then all duty periods other than the 4k, Section 8.E. would apply. However, Section 8.F., 8.G. and 8.H. would apply to the entire sequence including the duty period(s) containing the 4k.
