🗳️California Voting Underway🗳️

Aloha LAX,

This is a friendly reminder that the California Primary Election is underway and mail-in ballots have already been sent out. Please take a moment to verify your voter registration status and make a plan to vote.

Important California Election Date:

  • June 2, 2026 – California Primary Election Day

AFA-CWA District 9 has endorsed Katie Porter for Governor in this election cycle. The California Labor Federation has also endorsed candidates for other state, city and county positions, and we encourage you to review our full list of endorsements. All candidates endorsed by CWA District 9 and the California Labor Federation participated in rigorous interviews to earn our support. As always, endorsements are based on candidates’ demonstrated records of supporting workers, organized labor, collective bargaining rights, and issues impacting working people, without consideration of political party affiliation.

We encourage all members to stay informed, participate in the democratic process, and ensure your voice is heard this election season.

Joint Contract Negotiations Session 16 – July 2026

The JNC has been actively negotiating key sections of the contract, focusing on vacation, sick leave, and temporary duty assignments. A tentative agreement was reached on Section 37 (Temporary Duty Assignments), ensuring financial protections and fair treatment for Flight Attendants during temporary assignments. These ongoing discussions demonstrate a commitment to integrating the best benefits from both Alaska and Hawaiian CBAs for all members.
