Breast Cancer Awareness Month | Pins & Resources
Aloha Council 47,
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, honor those who have battled breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and remember those we have lost.
Breast cancer affects millions of individuals and families, including members of our own Flight Attendant community. This month serves as an important reminder of the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and supporting one another through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
🎀 Pink Ribbon Pins Available in LAX & SEA
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Council 47 will be making pink ribbon awareness pins available to members in both LAX and SEA.
We encourage members to pick up a pin and wear it throughout October to show support for those affected by breast cancer.
Where to Find Your Pin:
- LAX: Pins will be available in Josh’s mail file in the baggage room.
- SEA: Pins will be available at the AFA Resource Corner, located in the black drawers by the TV in the SEA Village.
Please note that supplies are limited. We will do our best to replenish the pins should we run out, depending on available resources.
Breast Cancer Awareness & Early Detection
Early detection can make a significant difference in breast cancer outcomes. We encourage everyone to take a moment to learn about breast cancer, understand their personal risk factors, and speak with their healthcare provider about appropriate screenings.
Breast cancer can affect anyone, regardless of gender. Knowing what is normal for your body and discussing any unusual changes with a healthcare professional are important steps toward protecting your health.

Supporting One Another
As Flight Attendants, we spend much of our time caring for others. It is equally important that we take time to care for ourselves and those around us.
For members who may be navigating a diagnosis, undergoing treatment, or supporting a loved one, please know that you are not alone. Our AFA Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is also available to provide confidential support and help connect members with additional resources.
Whether you wear a pink ribbon, encourage a loved one to schedule a screening, or simply check in on someone going through a difficult time, every gesture of support matters.
Mahalo for helping us recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for continuing to look out for one another.
