Action Required: Invalidate and Confirm Your Hawaiian Airlines ID Badge
Aloha Council 47 Members,
We want to remind all former Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendant badge holders that the company continues to require the invalidation of Hawaiian Airlines ID badges in accordance with TSA requirements.
The company has advised that approximately 415 directives have been issued to Flight Attendants between all three domiciles who have not yet surrendered their HA ID badge or provided proof that the badge has been properly invalidated. Flight Attendants who have not completed this requirement may be at risk of missing the directive deadline and could be subject to further disciplinary action.
To comply with the directive, Flight Attendants should ensure their Hawaiian Airlines ID badge has been invalidated by punching two holes in the expiration date:
- One hole through the expiration month
- One hole through the expiration year
If you have already invalidated your badge but have not yet provided proof, please submit a photo clearly showing the badge with both hole punches visible.
It was brought to our attention that some Flight Attendants who previously invalidated their badges, either on their own or with the assistance of management, may have received a directive in error. After discussing this issue with management, the company acknowledged there were instances where invalidated badges were not properly documented. This was a failure in the company’s recordkeeping process, not a failure on the part of the affected Flight Attendants.
We understand the inconvenience, frustration, and anxiety this may have caused and apologize to those who wrongly received certified mail.
If you have questions regarding this requirement or need assistance, please contact HA.inflight.performance@alaskaair.com.
Please do not delay in completing this requirement if you have not already done so.
Mahalo,
Josh, Paul and Beth
