From Ruthann:
Here is a small summary of what was discussed at the AS ANC Monthly
Employee Safety Meeting that takes place the third Wednesday of each
month. Attendees include representatives from your AFA Air Safety
Health and Security committee, the Ramp, CSAs, Stores, Catering,
Management, etc. This allows all the work groups to bring forth
agenda items that need to be solved with the help of other work
groups. Below are some of the items discussed in May that will be on
the agenda for June. If you have any safety concerns please report
them to Ruthann.Bledsoe@gmail.com or any of the other safety committee
members which include Betsy DeMay, Sarah Roberts, or Debi Wallstrom.
These are ongoing items that are on the agenda for the June 15th meeting.
1. ATB (air turn back) due to 2 juice caps in the R2 door frame on a
ANC-SEA flight. Catering was advised and signed off for each worker to
check the door frame for internal debris before shutting the door.
2. CSA reminder that a Cabin Baggage Tag must be attached to each FAA
approved carseat brought onto the aircraft for use in the cabin.
3. CSA reminder that service animals must be on the final flight report to
have the notice appear on the F/A iPhone to avoid flight delays.
4. Our F/As are having a problem with the combi stairs improperly
positioned by SEA CSAs at the L2 door. If this occurs please write an
incident report, an ASAP, and send pictures to
Ruthann.Bledsoe@gmail.com. ANC CSAs are positioning the L2 combi
stairs correctly.
