        SEA Roadshow Q&A 12/10/14

         

        Section 3 – Scope

        Q: If there were irregular ops can managers/supervisor bypass the provisions?

        A: No, there is no exception for irregular operations

         

        Q: Does AFA International advocate for managers/supervisors to work our union jobs?

        A: Don’t believe we advocate for this provision, however many carriers have similar provisions allowing managers/supervisors to perform our duties and cover a cancellation. In our afternoon session we will have Sara Nelson joining us, she is our AFA International President and could weigh in on this question.

         

        Q: Will we be training managers/supervisors?

        A: They are trained and FAA certified. There may be familiarization training but they do know what is expected.

         

        Q: If there is safety related issue am I able to write up the manger/supervisor?

        A: Yes

         

        Q: Could Brad Tilden sit on a FA jumpseat?

        A: On non revenue flights they are able to sit in jumpseat. There is ability for certain individuals to sit in the flight deck.

         

        Q: Will we know ahead of time that managers/supervisors will be on our flight?

        A: There is no contractual requirement, but commitment to day prior.

         

        Q: If I feel like I want to comp something will I have to explain that to that manager/supervisor?

        A: You may, but if you follow the comp guideline you should be good.

         

        Section 8 – Hours of Service

         

        Q: If changing the 15 minute debrief due to extending past the time is it all or nothing?

        A: Yes. Either all FAs receive the adjustment or none.

         

        Q: Do you see this 15 minute debrief as coming back on them?

        A: They will pay a scheduler to sit and answer the phone to adjust. Don’t see as a huge issue.

         

        Q: If I block in 20 minutes early, then have a 15 minute debrief would I need have time adjusted if extended past 15 minutes?

        A: Yes, you would need to have your time adjusted. 15 minute debrief is based on parking brake set and L1 door open. If you extend past your debrief call and have time adjusted.

         

        Q: Is management concerned they will have less pre-boarders?

        A: Crew Scheduling is concerned as the 15 minute debrief is limiting. However the limitation on number of airport standby reserves on duty at the airport was removed. There is still a personal limitation on number of APSB per month which is a separate provision.

         

        Section 9 – Junior Availability and Premium OT

         

        Q: If I am JA’d within the 15 minutes but subsequently my debrief is extended do I still have to accept JA?

        A: Yes. As long as notified prior to scheduled debrief ending.

         

        Q: Any discussion about having more reserves?

        A: Absolutely. There is no contractual provision requiring a specific reserve threshold. We were not successful in reaching agreement on such provision.

         

        Q: Was it your feeling at the table that management is going to use JA as a staffing tool?

        A: No management is not going to use as a staffing tool. The pay penalty is significant at 2.5X.

         

        Q: Longevity Premium is paid on JA and Premium OT?

        A: Correct. Everything except vacation and sick leave.

         

        Q: Can I be JA’d into my vacation?

        A: No. Same as today.

         

        Section 10 – Scheduling

         

        Q: When Scheduling calls and I was offered I rejected first day, accepted another day, am I waiving for entire month?

        A: No, each time waiver is required.

         

        Q: How will this affect LAX pairings?

        A: There will be changes to pairings, however there are protections such as multiday sequence minimums, average duty period guarantees, sit pay premium. There will be protections for inefficient pairings.

         

        Q: Can people just transfer and bump me down?

        A: There would need to be openings in the domicile for FAs to transfer in.

         

        Q: Since this is defined, my concern is wanting to adjust return to base 4k using a sideletter?

        A: No difference. This MEC does not put side letters without membership input or ratification. Attempting to change a duty day or other work rules would require membership to vote to make any changes to the agreement.

         

        Q: I am being asked to accept a 4k reassignment due to my trip being changed, but it is only trip Crew Scheduling has available am I pay protected if I don’t accept the 4k?

        A: Yes, you would be pay protected.

         

        Section 11 – Reserve

         

        Q: I won’t get in trouble if I check my email after 15 minute debrief?

        A: Correct. There is reasonable amount of time allowed in order to check email.

         

        Q: If I preference my ER day does that count towards the 1 of 2 conversions?

        A: Yes.

         

        Q: If you pick up reserve as a lineholder are you entitled to all reserve premiums, A pay, etc?

        A: Yes. You are entitled to the premiums.

         

        Q: If I meet my maximum reserve threshold will I not be able to assign above my guarantee?

        A: You are not able to exceed your guarantee by more than 10TFP.

         

        Q: If I am a lineholder and I have 3 reserve days what is maximum tfp amount I can self assign?

        A: 25 TFP for a 3 day. 15 TFP, plus 10 above the guarantee.

         

        Q: Is there a penalty for assigning LFTA out of order?

        A: There is no financial penalty.

        Section 12 – Exchange of Sequences

        Q: The thresholds can change during the trial?

        A: Yes. By mutual agreement. This is to keep the trial open and adjust the numbers.

         

        Q: What is the restriction with OT?

        A: 40 TFP net give away.

         

        Q: If the day is limited is there ability for a 4 day in OT could I trade two 2 days?

        A: No, under the trial it is day for day or greater. There is possibility they will program

         

        Section 14 – Vacation

         

        Q: If this does pass when will 480 requirements take effect?

        A: The new calculation will start January 1st, 2015 for 2016 benefits.

         

        Q: On holiday pay if I fly 8 TFP trip do I receive 16 TFP towards my 480?

        A: No. Just like today. On a holiday your TFP step rate is paid at double, but you still receive 8 TFP credit towards the 480.

         

        Q: If bidding for PTO is that 1st or 2nd round of vacation bidding?

        A: 2nd round.

         

        Q: When will all minimum pay rules be in effect?

        A: No later than May 1st, 2015. However in the mean time you are able to submit activity claim for sit pay premium.

         

        Q: If TA passes will Jan 1, 2015 and subsequent Jan 1 be paid as a holiday?

        A: Yes.

         

        Section 16 – Sick Leave and On the Job Injury

         

        Q: Can I self assign on a sick leave makeup reserve day?

        A: Yes.

         

        Q: Will points be taken away for sick leave makeup?

        A: No, it is not a point mitigation system, rather sick leave restoration.

        Section 21 – Compensation

         

        Q: If I am off on medical do I still get signing bonus?

        A: Yes

         

        Q: When will pay rates become effective?

        A: December 17th.

         

        Q: Let’s say I take all 4 weeks of vacation in a quarter and only flew my awarded line what would happen in regards to the QPP?

        A: You wouldn’t make the QPP payout.

         

        Q: If I have vacation in the entire month how will my QPP be determined?

        A: Your personal PBS award per month over the quarter. PBS sets the bar. Everyone’s bar is different.

         

        Section 22 – Expenses

        Section 23 – Insurance

         

        Q: Is the 12 month look back rolling?

        A: No.

         

        Section 27 – General Association

        Section 32 – Attendance Policy

         

        Q: If you call in Intermittent FMLA will you receive record improvement?

        A: Under current agreement no, under TA2 you could qualify.

         

        Random:

         

        Q: Was the crew meal cost incorporated into the per diem?

        A: Yes. We took the cost of crew meals, divided by overall time away from base which equaled around $0.22, we rounded up to $0.25.

         

        Q: Is there longevity hold up if I don’t meet the 480?

        A: Not in TA2, you are brought to your rate based on hire date.

         

        Q: What are items the company is very adamant about?

        A: Management flying, benefits, top of scale pay. 4k and 15 minute debrief contingent on rates, length of scale.

         

        Q: Was 401k discussed?

        A: Yes. We were not able to get a more favorable application.

         

        Q: If this is voted down do we start from TA2?

        A: There are no guarantees. Every section is open for negotiation. We do not anticipate a quick turn around.

         

        Q: What will happen to LAX if this is voted in?

        A: There is never a guarantee to keep any domicile. However, executive management has stated at this time there is no downsizing or closing of LAX. There was a time when even PDX was a domicile then converted to co-domicile and is now back to a domicile.

        Did you know that there is absolutely NO quarterly flying requirement in meeting the yearly 480 requirement? Just as to today, you DO NOT have to fly any set amount in a quarter when working to achieve the yearly flying requirement of 480 for benefits. There is no flying requirement to retain employment.

        ANC Roadshow 12/9/14 Q&A Afternoon Session

         

        Section 3 – Scope

        Q: The 2% of managers, is that the cap?

        A: Yes.

         

        Section 8 – Hours of Service

        Q: How is block-in determined?

        A: The parking brake must be set and the first aircraft door being opened to officially be “blocked in”.

         

        Q: Will all mid-con layovers go away?

        A: No, there will still be layovers. Planes will still need to RON.

         

        Q: Will we lose ANC-ORD layover?

        A: This is not a contractual change. Pairings can always rotate to other bases. There are no guarantees.

         

        Section 9 – Junior Available

        Q: So Crew Scheduling won’t call us at home anymore?

        A: Correct.

         

        Q: If you prefer off a day in PBS, can Crew Scheduling fly you on that day off?

        A: Yes. However, if you are awarded a trip on the day you prefer off and drop the trip and do not replace flying on that day then you cannot be Junior Assigned.

         

        Q: How early can you be Junior Assigned?

        A: The day prior to the Junior Assignment.

         

        Q: If I am contacted for a Junior Assignment prior to my 15 minute debrief ending am I required to accept the assignment?

        A: Yes.

         

        Section – Scheduling

        Q: In 5 years, could 4k sequences be as high as 50% pairings?

        A: No, there would have to be enough cities that qualify with the very specific parameters.

         

        Q: Could Hawaii ever qualify for a 4k trip?

        A: No, Hawaii does not qualify as it is more than 2000 miles each way.

         

        Q: Will the company consult AFA adding new cities that would qualify for 4k?

        A: There is no language to support a requirement to consult AFA, However, AFA will be aware of new potential 4k routes.

         

        Q: Can I ASAP on a 4k because I am fatigued?

        A: You can however it would have to be accepted based on the ASAP criteria and could be determined on a case by case basis.

         

        Q: At what time could a Reserve be forced a 4k pairing?

        A: 3 hours prior to departure (2 hours prior to check-in).

         

        Q: If a Lineholder is offered and accepts a 4k sequence will they be paid the 1.5x premium?

        A: No, the 4k 1.5x premium is for Reserves who are forced to fly the sequence.

         

        Section 11 – Reserve

        Q: What is self-assigning?

        A: If you are on reserve you will be able to self-assign trips from Open Time or Airport Standby. Self-assigned trips must be exact match to your block days and call type.

         

        Q: Will Airport Standby also be in Open Time?

        A: Yes, however you can only pick up within your call type. You can also trade Airport Standby assignment with another Reserve on Airport Standby. Reserves can also trade trips once assigned.

         

        Q: Is the go around credit improved for Reserves?

        A: Yes, it is now the same application as for a Lineholder.

         

        Section 12 – Open Time

        Q: What is the difference between a TO vs TX code?

        A: TO you can do a straight drop into Open Time and TX is a trade of day for day or greater.

         

        Q: Are the TO/CP/SL/CB/UB etc… codes able to be seen on the trips?

        A: Yes.

         

        Section 14 – Vacation

        Q: Does vacation count toward my 480 credit for my vacation accrual?

        A: No.

         

        Section 16 – Sick Leave

        Q: Does Sick Leave Reserve Make Up reduce my points?

        A: No. This is not a point reduction tool. It is a rapid accrual system to restore your sick bank.

         

        Q: Can you still call in well and do I have to sit reserve?

        A: Yes, you can still call in well. No you are not required to accept a reserve block. There is no change to this provision.

         

        Section 21 – Compensation

        Q: Why did we go with a signing bonus vs retro?

        A: We tried for retro but were unable to achieve it.

         

        Q: If I work a turn worth 4 TFP will I get paid 4 TFP or 5 TFP for the trip?

        A: With Minimum Pay Rules, (ADPG) you will be credited 5 TFP if flown, 4 TFP if you call in sick.

         

        Q: How many years can they go back on the 480 look-back?

        A: They need to go back as far as necessary to get a full 12 months even if it means looking back several years.

         

        Section 32 – Attendance

        Q: If I take a staffing leave in January will it preclude me from record improvement?

        A: No, leaves will no longer automatically preclude you from record improvement.

         

        Q: Can I now use my quarterly point reduction prior to using bank points?

        A: Yes. In today’s application bank points are automatically deducted and if you use your quarterly point reduction your bank points deducted and not restored. With TA2 you gain bank point protections and can now use your quarterly point reduction prior to using your bank points.

        ANC Roadshow 12/9/14 Q&A Morning Session

        Section 3 – Scope
        Q: Do managers get to choose their flights?
        A: Ron Calvin will be choosing the flights.

        Q: How much advance notice will we have for management flying?
        A: The day prior however there is no contractual requirement to give notice.

        Q: Prior to management flying to prevent a cancellation do they have to JA and go through all reserves first?
        A: Yes, in the sense that in order for a flight to be in jeopardy of cancellation there can be no Flight Attendants available to take the flight. Management cannot fly simply to minimize JA or retain Reserves.

        Section 8 – Hours of Service
        Q: Will all our mid con layovers become turns?
        A: No, there will still be layovers. Planes will still need to RON.

        Q: If a CSA meets the plane and tells you to pre-board is that considered sufficient notification?
        A: Yes, however the pre-board must start within your 15 minute debrief period.

        Q: With the 15 minute debrief would ANC get the PDX turn back?
        A: Yes, it would be possible with the new debrief time.

        Section 9 – Junior Available
        Q: If I get rid of my 4 day trip am I protected for the whole 4 days?
        A: Yes, as long as you don’t replace flying on those days you have immunity.

        Q: If Crew Scheduling calls you on a day that you drop do you have to accept the assignment?
        A: CS can’t call to JA you on a day that you dropped.

        Q: Can they JA a reserve?
        A: No, Reserves cannot be Junior Assigned.

        Section 10 – Scheduling
        Q: Do the 10% open up more flying to the other bases?
        A: Yes, it would potentially lock flying into other bases.

        Q: What flying is considered to be the “5%” of pairings? How is the 5% calculated?
        A: The 5% is of overall system wide pairings.

        Q. Will all of our long turns go away – now we have 100% of those and now it looks like they will go to SEA and PDX.
        A. No – one cannot think of it as the turns live in one base – the flying moves around the system. The :15 debrief creates the ability for mid-con turns to be available year-round.

        Q: How did the 90%-10% split happen?
        A: The company wanted all flying to be in one base. The NC negotiated a portion of the flying to be mixed and distributed into all bases to make it fair and equitable.

        Section 11 – Reserve
        Q: As a Lineholder if I pick up one reserve day from a Reserve would I be an ER?
        A: Yes, either PM or AM you would be converted to ER.

        Q: As a Lineholder picking up a reserve day would I automatically go to the top of the list?
        A: As a Lineholder you are automatically put to the bottom of the LTFA.

        Section 12 – Open Time
        Q: If the day is open can I drop or trade a trip?
        A: Yes, as long as there is a slot open the day will be considered open. When all slots are full the day will change to “limited”.

        Q: When will Open Time go into effect if the TA passes?
        A: August 2015

        Q: How will we know if a trip in OT is being offered at a premium by crew scheduling?
        A: Premium OT trips will have a different specific code attached so FAs will be able to identify Premium OT trips.

        Section 14 – Vacation
        Q: Do you have to work the full 480 to receive your full vacation credit toward your health benefits?
        A: The 480 for insurance is a soft 480 credit. Your full annual YOS vacation accrual counts toward your 480 to retain health insurance.

        Section 16 – Sick Leave
        Q: If you didn’t have enough SL to cover your trip and do Sick Leave RS Make Up, how much sick leave gets restored to your bank?
        A: Only the amount drawn from your SL bank will be restored at a 1:1 rate. Any additional Worked TFP would be credited at a 10:1 The FA would be paid for the excess Worked TFP, including the RS premium.

        Q: Who does Sick Leave Reserve Make Up help? Why would anyone want to do that?
        A: Everyone. Especially those wanting to maintain a particular amount of SL in their bank. If a FA is returning from leave or a new hire it can be hard to build up your SL bank. Sick Leave RS Make Up is a rapid accrual at 1:1 vs the standard accrual of 10:1.

        Q: When will the New Year’s Day holiday pay go into effect?
        A: January 1, 2015

        No.  All provision are the same as current book.  If a FA calls in well, Crew Scheduling may offer the following options and if the FA agrees, they may:

        1. Pick up their sequence at a SIP

        2. Receive a Like Sequence

        3. Sit Reserve

        4. Remain off duty for the remainder of the sequence and be paid SL.

        However, the difference is that under TA2, if you elect to sit Reserve, a line holder will by default be the last to fly within their call type and days of availability.  If the line holder would prefer they can opt in to the LTFA list.

        PDX Roadshow Q&A 12/8/14

        Afternoon Session

         

        Section 3 – Scope

         

        Q: Do Managers have to be in our uniform?

         

        A: No, it isn’t specifically stated that they are required to wear a uniform.

         

        Q: Will it be announced that a supervisor is on board the flight?

         

        A: It is an option available to the crew.

         

        Q: Why don’t they hire only our Flight Attendants to be inflight supervisors?

         

        A: Flight Attendants can apply when a position becomes open as an inflight supervisor.

         

        Q: Do they have to go through the reserve list and attempt to JA before using a manager to avoid a cancelation?

         

        A: Yes, they have to utilize all other options before using a manager to avoid a cancelation.

         

        Q: Do supervisors who fly get paid per diem?

         

        A: No, they don’t receive per diem, however they can submit receipt for meals. Flight Attendants don’t submit receipts because we receive per diem.

         

         

        Section 8 – Hours of Service

        Section 9 – Junior Availability and Premium OT

         

        Q: If scheduling called and left a message on your hotel room phone, but you didn’t check it, are you still on the hook to call when you return to duty?

         

        A: No, you were not aware and never knew they were trying to contact you.

         

        Q: Can scheduling still call me at home to junior assign me?

         

        A: No, you can’t be junior assigned if contacted once you’re off duty.

         

        Section 10 – Scheduling

        Q: Can a base not have any 4k pairings for a given month?

         

        A: Yes, but contractually it most be rotated to all bases. Practically speaking, based on conversations with Crew Planning, they intend to lock a percentage of that flying into the each of those domiciles every month. Example, they may take the SEA-DTW sequence and lock the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday departures to LAX, Thursday, Friday to ANC, and Saturday, Sunday to SAN. This will fulfill the rotation requirement and not push flying out of each domicile.

         

        Section 11 – Reserve

         

        Q: Can I pick up out of domicile reserve days?

         

        A: No. Same as current book.

         

        Q: If I am a PM reserve, can I self assign to an AM trip?

         

        A: No. You must self-assign within your call type and availability.

         

        Q: Will this have an impact on the number of Crew Scheduling jobs with FAs being able to self assign?

         

        A: There is not an impact anticipated, but staffing in all departments is decided by management.

         

        Section 12 – Exchange of Sequences

         

        Q: If trips are coded TO, can I trade based on day of departure only?

         

        A: Yes, even if the day is limited, you may trade based on date of departure only.

         

        Q: If the day is limited, can I drop my trip into OT?

         

        A: No. You can only drop a trip if the day is open.

         

        Q: Can I continue to trade my trips with OT all month long?

         

        A: Yes subject to the net 40 TFP.

         

        Q: Is there another company using this OT trading program today?

         

        A: No.

         

         

         

        Section 14 – Vacation

         

        Q: If you fly an average of 40 tfp a month for the year, not including sick and vacation, will you get your full vacation for the next year?

         

        A: Yes, 480 tfp not including sick leave and vacation are required for full vacation the following year.

         

        Section 16 – Sick Leave and On the Job Injury

         

        Q: What happens if you pick up a sick leave makeup day and you don’t get called out.

         

        A: Your sick leave bank will be credited 5tfp.

         

        Q: Can I be given “A” position on a sick leave makeup day?

         

        A: Yes, you may be given any position sitting reserve for your sick leave makeup day.

         

        Section 21 – Compensation

         

        Q: Does sick leave count towards the Quarterly Productivity Premium (QPP)?

         

        A: No, only worked TFP counts (excludes sick leave and vacation)

         

        Q: Am I precluded from the QPP if I call out sick in the quarter?

         

        A: Calling out sick does not preclude you from achieving the QPP.

         

         

        Section 22 – Expenses

        Section 23 – Insurance

         

        Q: What is the worst case scenario for the amount we pay for insurance?

         

        A: A 15% increase per year.

         

        Q: Is there a calculation you can use to determine the increases for Kaiser, I only see PPO?

         

        A: Starting with 2016 you can add 15%, then in 2017 add 15%, in 2018 add 15%, and in 2019 add 15%. After 2019 the amount is frozen. This is the worst case scenario.

        Q: What are our insurance provisions based on?

         

        A: The actual provisions of our insurance coverage are based on what the pilots negotiate in their contract.

         

        Section 27 – General Association

        Q: Does the National Mediation Board (NMB) have control over canceling mediation dates?

         

        A: Yes, they are given full authority to dictate when a mediation date is schedule, and full authority to cancel or move dates.

         

        Q: Is there a monthly minimum?

         

        A: There isn’t a monthly minimum, however if you don’t have any paid time in the month your vacation accrual for the following year will be reduced by 1/12 (same application as current contract).

         

        Q: Did our Negotiating Committee ask for full retro pay at the table?

         

        A: Yes full retro pay was asked for prior to the first TA, and during mediation before the second TA. We did not achieve this.

        Section 3 – Scope

         

        Q: If I am “A” could I switch positions with the “E” (manager/supervisor)?

         

        A: You may change service positions once in the air, however all FAs must sit their safety position.

         

        Q: What is industry standard on this?

         

        A: The provisions from other carriers are on the blog.

         

        Section 8 – Hours of Service

         

        Q: If contacted during debrief how will they contact us?

         

        A: Supervisor at door, pilots giving you ACARS or CSA telling you to call scheduling. They could leave you a message.

         

        Q: What happens if pilots forget to give you ACARS?

         

        A: The same practice today. You do not get in trouble. We believe however the Chief Pilot will contact the pilots to remind them to pass on ACARS to FAs.

         

        Section 9 – Junior Availability and Premium OT

         

        Q: Is there an amount of days you are allowed to have off no matter what and they won’t JA you?

         

        A: Yes. If you have no more than the minimum 12 days off or if you are scheduled to fly more than 118.2 tfp you can’t be JA’d, same limits as current book.

         

        Q: How much do you get paid for VJA?

         

        A: VJA has been replaced with Premium Open Time and sequences will be placed into OT with a minimum of 1.5x premium up to whatever increased premium they choose to offer.

         

        Section 10 – Scheduling

         

        Q: What is the current max of a 4k pairing?

         

        A: Practical application of 4k would be PDX-PVR, 11 hours 45 minutes is max. If you exceed 12 hours 30 minutes the over duty protections apply. The 14 hour rule also applies.

         

        Q: Was there any thought given to a 4k duty period and how that will affect the FAs and our service scores?

         

        A: A conversation with executive management did take place and many considerations were discussed. The 4k allows FAs to opt in, it is not forced on a lineholder.

         

        Q: If I opt in for 4k flying during bidding, does that mean I can be reassigned or JA’d to a 4k?

         

        A: No. The 4k opt in is for bidding.   No lineholder will be reassigned or JA’d to a 4k.

         

        Section 11 – Reserve

         

        Q: If I am a lineholder who picked up a reserve day where will my name appear?

         

        A: Bottom of list within your classification on the LTFA. Based on seniority.

         

        Section 12 – Exchange of Sequences

         

        Q: In PDX if there are 3 daily departures limiting OT and someone picks up a day what happens?

         

        A: The day reopens.

         

        Section 14 – Vacation

         

        Q: Does vacation count towards the 960 PTO?

         

        A: Yes.

         

        Section 16 – Sick Leave and On the Job Injury

         

        Q: When making up the time is it based on the PBS award?

         

        A: Yes. When you call in sick your sick leave bank will be reduced by the amount of sick leave based on your PBS award. If participating in reserve sick leave make up you will be restoring your sick leave bank.

         

        Q: If I am coordinating a leave with my sick leave am I able to make that up using sick leave make up?

         

        A: No. You would only be able to make up sick leave when related to a sick call.

         

        Section 21 – Compensation

        Q: Is the signing bonus paid as income or a bonus separate check?

         

        A: It is paid as a bonus on a separate check on December 22nd.

         

        Q: When is the QPP paid?

         

        A:   If calendar quarter Jan/Feb/Mar, will be paid on May 5th. We confirmed this with management. Even if you do not receive a 5th advance check you will receive this payout on the 5th.

         

        Section 22 – Expenses

         

        Q: Is there a $0.05 increase year over year?

         

        A: No. $2.50 is the new rate, no down line increases on per diem.

         

        Section 23 – Insurance

         

        No Questions

         

        Section 27 – General Association

         

        NO Questions

         

        Section 32 – Attendance Policy

         

        Q: If I take a leave today does that preclude me from receiving record improvement?

         

        A: In the current practice it does preclude you, however under TA2 you are no longer precluded.

         

        Random:

         

        Q: Why is LAX saying 4k is bad for my base?

         

        A: The LAX base flying in the future is part of their concern, no guarantee this will help or hurt their pairings. The flying in LAX is currently not attractive to many based on duty time and route structure. SAN opened and beginning to grow. They are not closing or downsizing LAX at this time, which was confirmed by executive management. Flying can always change and there are no guarantees for any base of what the flying will look like in the future. The fear of the unknown and change is always hard.

         

        Q: For the months until the minimum pay rules are automated are we able to submit activity claim forms?

         

        A: Only for the sit time, until May 2015.

         

        Q: Are you limited to only one 2 hour sit per duty period for the sit time minimum pay rule?

         

        A: No. Each sit is independent.

         

        Q: Will there be a pamphlet of what will be implemented and when?

         

        A: There is the implementation LOA. We will provide supplementary information if TA2 passes.

         

        Q: I understand we have minimum requirements to receive specific benefits, however is there maximum limitations such as line building and flying?

         

        A: Under TA2 PBS line awards average 75-85 TFP, plus or minus 10 TFP, so it could range anywhere from 65 – 95 TFP based on base line average. There is still the 118.2 TFP maximum that Crew Scheduling cannot force you to fly above. There is no monthly minimum or maximum. There is no requirement to work to maintain your job, however there is a requirement to work to receive specific provisions and benefits.

        Flight Attendants who do not receive their voting instructions with the 16 digit activation code must call the AFA Ballot Helpline at (800) 424-2401, option 1 then extension 706.

        Flight Attendants who have dues or membership issues must call AFA Membership Services at (800) 424-2401,  option 7.

        The office is staffed Monday through Friday 930AM EST to 5PM EST.

        Here is our fourth weekly update highlighting posts on the Negotiations blog from December 1st through December 7th.

         

        Roadshows Week 1 Recap

         

        This past week was a whirlwind of Roadshows—the first round of two tours around the system. The Negotiating Committee made our way to each main domicile, conducting a morning and afternoon session at each one. At the end of each day we posted a recap of all the Q&A’s on the Negotiations blog for all Members to review. We felt it was important for you to be able to review the questions being asked at each session. We hope many of you will find this helpful.

        The Negotiating Committee thanks each of you who found the time to join us at a Roadshow. Based on your feedback, these session were helpful to understand some of the key components of TA2. Many of you also found value in discussing some of the provisions that are getting less “airtime” out there in conversation but work in combination with the TA as a whole. We would love to see many new faces this week and welcome you back if you have more questions to be answered. Please check the Roadshow schedule to see when and where we will be at your base in this final week of Roadshows.
