The Sharie D Shipley Center is located in Terminal 2 on the baggage claim level.  From the Commuter Terminal, ride the airport loop bus and get off at the third stop.  Walk into Terminal 2 baggage claim area, turn left, and walk to the very end.  The center is on the left side of the far end wall.

San Diego Union Meeting Nov. 5th

Tuesday, November 5th from 11am to 2pm at Oggi’s Pizza, Point Loma/Liberty Station, 2562 Laning Road, San Diego, California  92106. Tel: 619-876-5000.

Join us for lunch, meet with your LEC, and receive valuable information. We encourage your attendance, so come and bring your questions and concerns.

Our guest speaker for Negotiations will be MEC President Jeff Peterson. Agenda items will be discussed, along with reports from respective LEC committees.

Go For AFA Blue at the Company Meeting October 9th.

Your LEC Officers are thrilled with the overwhelming show of solidarity by the outpouring of advanced t-shirt requests from our strong and very united membership.  Go AFA!

With this awareness comes the realization that our original plan to set aside t-shirts for those ordering in advance, is not possible.  Therefore all t-shirts will be handed out on a first come, first served basis prior to the meeting.  We will do our best to provide you with a fit as close to your size as possible.

Although we are not anticipating it, if we run out of shirts entirely, we’d like you to come prepared with a shirt in the same color scheme (royal/cobalt blue).  We’d also like to request that AFA sits together in a sea of AFA blue.

Your AFA officers will be in the lobby of the Grand Californian at 1 PM!

We apologize for not being able to respond to each email we received.

Let’s make our voice heard this Wednesday at the company meeting!

Join in and show our SOLIDARITY at the Company Fall Meeting October 9th. Your LEC will be be there in AFA Blue at Grand California Disneyland. The meeting is from 2:30pm-4pm with a following reception until 6pm (free parking).

RSVP for the meeting and reception through the First Class email from Andy & Co.

Contact Kelly Johnson, Kelese Stallings, or David Lehman to get a blue AFA t-shirt. Send an email to laxvice@aol.com with your name and shirt size (the t-shirts are pre-shrunk and true to size), and she will get a shirt to you on the day of the event.

You only get a T-shirt if you show up.

Joint Contract Negotiations Session 9 – November 2025

Our JNC met with management for three days of collective bargaining in Seattle, making progress on several key contract sections. A Tentative Agreement was reached on Section 25 (Air Safety, Health and Security), incorporating valuable improvements influenced by the Hawaiian Collective Bargaining Agreement.

2025-2028 CBA Document Update

Over the past several months, AFA Alaska and Alaska management have worked to correct any unintended errors in the final 2025-2028 CBA document. AFA Alaska also updated citations, hyperlinks, and the index. Strikethrough language is removed, and the text color is standard black (blue for hyperlinks). Sick Leave Survey Extension – Closing Soon

There’s just 1 DAY LEFT to complete the Sick Leave Survey that will help shape future provisions. Our JNC is eager to hear your thoughts on which elements of our paid sick leave policy are most meaningful to you, as we strive to improve our support for your needs. The survey is currently open and will remain available until Friday, November 21 at Noon PT.
