August 27 RED Hot Informational Picketing – Sign Up Now!

Your AFA Negotiating Committee will go back to the table with management on August 25 in San Diego, CA for our next mediation session. As a show of support and solidarity for the Negotiating Committee, we will be conducting informational picketing on Wednesday, August 27 in each of our five bases. The Negotiating Committee is counting on you to show management and the public how serious we are about getting a contract with the improvements we deserve!

Get Ready for a RED Hot Summer Picnic!

You’re invited for a day of food, fun, and solidarity at Angle Lake Park.  Angle Lake Park is conveniently located next to Alaska Airlines corporate headquarters in SeaTac, WA.  This is a family-friendly event, so be sure to bring the kids!

On The Menu

Hamburgers, hot dogs, and soda will be provided by AFA Council 19.  We’re counting on you to bring along some tasty side dishes and desserts to share (see below).  Due to City of SeaTac regulations, no alcoholic beverages are permitted.

What To Bring

  • If you’re coming from the Seattle area, please bring a side dish or dessert to share family-style with your fellow AFA members and their families.
  • Lawn chairs and blankets will help to make you more comfortable as you enjoy the event
  • Be sure to wear your new RED AFA t-shirt.  If you don’t have one already, we’ll have plenty on hand at the event!

Coming From Out of Town?

Even if you don’t live in the Seattle area, we hope that you’ll join us for the event.  The use of non-revenue standby travel is permitted for the event.

Council 18 (LAX) Needs You! Volunteer Now!

In preparation for the upcoming May 20th Mobilization events at each base, AFA Council 18 (LAX) Mobilization trainings are being held at the Westin LAX May 15th. By attending a single two-hour session, you’ll be empowered with knowledge about how you can help the Negotiating Committee send management a unified message—we are Five Bases, Standing Strong!

Joint Contract Negotiations Session 13 – March 2026

Our JNC met this week for three days of collective bargaining with management. The JNC focused on clarifying questions about moving expenses and presented a proposal for Sick Leave, using feedback from Flight Attendants to guide improvements. The Committee is working to incorporate the strongest elements from both contracts to ensure better support for all members.

Hawaiian Seattle Domicile Council 43 and Council 47 Meeting Recap

The Negotiating Committee continues to advocate for clear and consistent guidelines regarding moving expenses and reimbursement for Flight Attendants. Despite management’s refusal to participate in recent meetings, the committee remains committed to addressing members’ concerns and ensuring contractual compliance. As the grievance process moves forward, Flight Attendants are encouraged to document their interactions and stay engaged in upcoming opportunities to seek clarification from management.
