Time to Use Your Uniform Points

Aloha LAX,

As the year wraps up, please remember to use your remaining uniform points before December 31.

Under Section 6.C of our Collective Bargaining Agreement, Flight Attendants are credited with 650 uniform points each January 1, valued at one dollar per point. These points can be used toward the purchase of replacement uniform items or company-approved optional pieces through the uniform vendor. Unused points do not roll over into the new year and will be forfeited if not used by December 31.

To make the most of your allowance:

• Place your order early to avoid end-of-year processing delays.
• Inspect your uniform items for wear or damage and replace them as needed.
• Remember that you can pay the difference if your order exceeds your annual 650-point balance.

🎄 Holiday Pay and Doctor’s Note Reminders 🍁

As we head into the holiday season, here’s a quick refresher on Holiday Pay and Doctor’s Note requirements as outlined in our Contract.

Holiday Pay

[Section 3.L] Flight Attendants receive additional compensation for working or being on duty during the following recognized holidays:

• New Year’s Day (January 1)
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day (December 25)

Pay Details:

• In addition to all other compensation, you’ll receive an extra hour of pay for each credited hour worked on the holiday.
• If you are on duty or away from base with no flying on a holiday, you’ll still receive a minimum of three (3) hours pay/no credit.

[Section 7.I.5] If you are recalled on a holiday, you’ll receive Recall Pay (2x) plus Holiday Pay (1x), for a total of 3x pay for that portion of the grouping.

Doctor’s Note Requirements

[Section 19.G]

A doctor’s note is required for any sick occurrence on the following days:

• Thanksgiving Day
• Three days before and after Christmas Day

Note: Christmas Day itself is not included in the doctor’s note requirement.

A doctor’s note is also required for any absence longer than seven (7) consecutive calendar days.

Important exceptions:

• If you are not on the Sick Leave Monitor Program and have not had a sick occurrence in the previous six (6) months, you are exempt from the holiday doctor’s note requirement.

• The note must be provided upon return to work or within ten (10) calendar days from the first day of your sick occurrence, whichever comes first.

2026 Annual Health Benefits Enrollment

Aloha LAX,

As we move forward in integrating our work systems with Alaska Air Group, a few changes will be apparent in this year’s Open Enrollment that may look different than what we are used to. Please take the time to review these changes and reach out to your local leadership for any questions you may have.

Annual Benefits Enrollment runs October 29 – November 21. Hawaiian Flight Attendants will continue under our existing benefit programs until a joint agreement is reached through the joint negotiations process.

Enrollment Platform

This year’s enrollment will take place on OurBenefitsHub.com. The site replaces HA.BenefitsNow.com. Even though the platform is shared, our contractual benefits remain governed by our current Hawaiian agreement until new terms are negotiated and ratified.

Key Dates and Coverage

Enrollment window: October 29 – November 21, 2025
Coverage effective date: January 1, 2026

No action needed for current coverage to continue, unless you wish to:

• Re-enroll in an FSA
• Complete a new HC-5 waiver form

Confirmation statements for 2026 coverage will be mailed and posted online the week of December 1.

Plan Updates

• Medical plan costs: HMSA and Kaiser plan premiums are increasing by approximately 10–11%.
• New vendor for FSAs/HRAs: Administration is moving from SmartChoice to Optum Financial.
• Company EAP provider change: Lyra will replace SupportLinc as the Employee Assistance Program provider for Hawaiian Airlines. Please note that company EAP is a different program from the AFA EAP.
• Group Life & AD&D: Members who have not named a beneficiary will need to add one during enrollment.
• Leave of Absence Premium Billing: The Benefits Hub will handle billing and payment for benefits during leaves.

Travel Program Note

TRAVEL OPEN ENROLLMENT will be moved to March 2026 as we prepare for a combined Passenger Service System (PSS). 

The “Inner Circle” enrollment period will not occur in November. Current Inner Circle guests remain active through December.

Beginning in January, Inner Circle fares will apply automatically when using FTP credits on HA-designated flights.

Recap October 27 to November 7

On behalf of your Council 47 Officers, Josh, Paul, and Beth, thank you for the support and trust you have shown in us during the recent elections. We are truly grateful to represent you for another three years and remain committed to putting you first in every decision we make.

As we look ahead to the next three years, our focus will be to strengthen our council and representation. We will continue to show up for you at every level, whether in conversations with management, at MEC meetings, or within AFA International.

Our continued commitment to you is to listen, communicate openly, and act with transparency and accountability. The work ahead will take collaboration, patience, and persistence, but together we can build our future through this merger.

IMD Refresh Update

The company is currently conducting the Inflight Mobile Device (IMD) refresh. If you are unable to make one of the scheduled RSVP appointments, another option is available:

• A Spot On IT Technician is located in the LAX Village, Monday through Friday, 0530–1400 PST.
• The technician’s schedule can vary, so reach out to Gina Lorenzo for the latest information or to coordinate an appointment.

If you encounter any issues or scheduling conflicts, please contact Gina Lorenzo. Please make sure to complete the AAG Single Sign-on process before doing the IMD refresh.

Back in May, AFA sent an email to all members (to your personal email, not company email) with instructions for setting up your account on the AFA Membership Hub. If you have not completed this process, please do so as soon as possible.

The Membership Hub allows you to:

• View and manage your AFA-CWA membership information and status
• Update contact details to ensure your mailing address is correct for contract voting
• Review dues history and make payments
• Set up automatic monthly dues payments
• Access MEC/LEC contact information
