Council 15 (SAN) LEC Officer Election Results

Polls closed at 12 PM PT yesterday for the election of Council 15 LEC Officers, representing Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants based in San Diego. The following AFA Flight Attendants have been elected to Local Council Officer positions:

LEC President: Brice McGee
LEC Vice President: Melanie Buker
LEC Secretary: Katharine “Kitty” Cohen

These newly elected officers will begin their terms on July 1, 2025, and serve until June 30, 2028.

On behalf of our Master Executive Council (MEC), we congratulate the newly elected officers. We also want to express our gratitude to everyone who participated in the election process, whether by voting or by running for office. 

AFA Council 19 (SEA) LEC Vice President Runoff Election Results

The following AFA Flight Attendant was elected to the office of LEC Vice President representing Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants based in Seattle:

LEC Vice President: Melinda Jorge Henderson

This officer will serve a term of office starting July 1, 2023 and concluding on June 30, 2026.

Our Master Executive Council (MEC) congratulates the newly elected officer and we sincerely thank all those who stepped forward to run in the election.

AFA Council 19 (SEA) Election Results

Master Executive Council (MEC)

The following AFA Flight Attendants were elected to Local Council Officer positions representing Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants based in Seattle:

LEC President: Paula Isla-McGill
LEC Secretary: Adam Clarey
Council Representative: Megan Brown
Council Representative: Jerry Sinclair

Due to a tie between Melinda Jorge Henderson & Ty Tufono-Chaussee, a run-off election will be held for the office of LEC Vice President.

Joint Contract Negotiations Session 13 – March 2026

Our JNC met this week for three days of collective bargaining with management. The JNC focused on clarifying questions about moving expenses and presented a proposal for Sick Leave, using feedback from Flight Attendants to guide improvements. The Committee is working to incorporate the strongest elements from both contracts to ensure better support for all members.

Hawaiian Seattle Domicile Council 43 and Council 47 Meeting Recap

The Negotiating Committee continues to advocate for clear and consistent guidelines regarding moving expenses and reimbursement for Flight Attendants. Despite management’s refusal to participate in recent meetings, the committee remains committed to addressing members’ concerns and ensuring contractual compliance. As the grievance process moves forward, Flight Attendants are encouraged to document their interactions and stay engaged in upcoming opportunities to seek clarification from management.
