MEC Officer Election Results

With the current Master Executive Council (MEC) Officers’ term ending on December 31, 2025, our MEC held elections this week for the next term. According to the AFA-CWA Constitution and Bylaws, each of the eight Local Executive Council (LEC) Presidents casts one vote for each officer position. The following AFA Flight Attendants have been elected to MEC Officer positions representing Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants:

MEC President: Timothy Green
MEC Vice President: Brice McGee
MEC Secretary-Treasurer: Paul Ikioka

These officers will serve from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028. You can find more details about each officer’s duties and responsibilities in the AFA-CWA Constitution and Bylaws and the MEC Policy and Procedure Manual.

Our MEC congratulates the newly elected officers and sincerely thanks everyone who stepped forward to run in the election.

Sick Leave Survey Deadline Extended

This message is for both pre-merger Alaska and Hawaiian Flight Attendants

  • Sick Leave Survey extended to Friday, November 21 Noon PT

Our Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) has received reports that some Flight Attendants have not received the Sick Leave Survey emails. If you have not yet received the survey, please check your spam or junk folder. We are actively working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. To ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate, we are extending the survey deadline to Friday, November 21 at Noon PT.

Our Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) is committed to prioritizing your health and well-being. We are eager to hear your thoughts on which elements of our paid sick leave policy are most meaningful to you, as we strive to improve our support for your needs.

Our paid sick leave policy is specifically designed to give you the assurance of taking necessary time off without the stress of losing pay. Understanding that every individual’s health journey is unique, our JNC is dedicated to ensuring our contract meets your healthcare needs.

The survey is currently open and will close on Tuesday, November 11, at Noon PT. For a quick comparison of the Alaska and Hawaiian Sick Leave please see Sick Leave Survey Now Open in AFA News Now. We strongly encourage you to take part in this brief survey, as your input is invaluable in helping us create a supportive environment for all.

Our MEC will hold interviews and conduct elections for the offices of MEC President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer on Tuesday, November 11. Your LEC President, who represents you on the MEC, will vote on your behalf for these positions. Council 30 (ANC) LEC Officer Election Results

Polls closed at 12 PM PT today for the election of Council 30 LEC Officers, representing Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants based in Anchorage. The following AFA Flight Attendants have been elected to Local Council Officer positions:

LEC President: LeiLauni Scheideman
LEC Vice President: Heather Reier
LEC Secretary: Anne Madsen

These newly elected officers will begin their terms on January 1, 2026, and serve until December 31, 2028.

Joint Contract Negotiations Session 13 – March 2026

Our JNC met this week for three days of collective bargaining with management. The JNC focused on clarifying questions about moving expenses and presented a proposal for Sick Leave, using feedback from Flight Attendants to guide improvements. The Committee is working to incorporate the strongest elements from both contracts to ensure better support for all members.
